Determine if Solar is Right for your family
Consider these important points:

WILL SOLAR SAVE ME MONEY? The amount you save depends on several factors: the size of your system, your electricity usage, how you pay for the system, utility rate increases (historically 5.5% annually), and more. Generally, customers can expect to save between $30,000 to $60,000+ on electricity costs over the system’s lifespan. Best of all, while utility companies continue to hike prices annually, your payments remain fixed year after year.

SUN EXPOSURE? The more “sun-facing” your roof, the better. We can optimize panel layout and equipment to maximize savings even with less-than-ideal sun exposure. A site survey is recommended to determine project feasibility.
Energy Net Metering
Talk to the solar provider about net metering and the upcoming changes. When you switch to solar, your utility company will install a new meter for your home that allows for net metering. This meter acts as a gate, dumping excess electricity created by your solar array onto the grid during the day and drawing needed electricity from the grid at night. A highly-qualified provider will have a thorough understanding of how the net meter affects utility companies and homeowners.

We complete your local permitting requirements
Every property improvement needs approval from the Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ), the building department in charge of permitting and inspections. Good solar companies maintain strong relationships with local AHJs to ensure smooth processes. If you live in a neighborhood with a homeowners' association, they’ll likely need to approve your installation as well. Choose a company that handles this approval for you, so you don’t have to stress over it. Getting the proper permits can be a hassle. We recommend finding a solar company that manages this for you, simplifying the process.
Install your system
It’s time to install the panels! The solar technicians have arrived on time and introduced themselves to you and your family. Be sure you know which technician is your designated lead, as they will be your main contact for all questions. Installation typically takes 2-3 days, although this can vary depending on the size and scope of the project. Rarely will a highly qualified provider extend the installation beyond 5 days.
Get Final Approval from your Utility
Once your solar system is installed, it will be connected to your utility grid via an interconnection to begin generating electricity. Generally speaking, three things will occur:
-
Local building and electrical inspectors conduct their final inspections.
-
Your utility company is notified of the project’s completion. A new meter may be installed at this stage.
-
Your utility company approves your connection to the grid. Your installer then notifies you that you can turn on your system and start producing clean solar energy!
